What can you accomplish in a month?

On 30 July, we started our journey back to Canada so it's about a month ago.  After having a couple of hiccups over the last few days, I thought I would remind myself of all the things that we have accomplished over the last month.  Yes, this is a pick-me-up blog!!

We got possession of our Kingston house and started renovations right away.  Sonny, with help from friends, completed the demolition of walls, removal of carpet, tiles and baseboards, and more.  We bought appliances, lighting fixtures, doors, door knobs, ceiling fans, lock hardware, and more (basically, it feels like we're hemorrhaging money!).  We celebrated 17 years of marriage. We sold a house and in the process, dealt with tenants who moved out early and left us a few surprises in the house. G has had at least 4 sleepovers (reunion with friends is the absolute best).

We discovered and fixed a hole in the roof. Sonny installed closet rails. G lost another tooth. We painted baseboards and cleaned.  We bought a trampoline (hours of setup!). Sonny began his new job and G started a new school. I've learnt to cook in a hotel room and pack lunches (who knew I could be so creative!).  Sonny has gone on work trips and we have fit in overnight visits to friends in Montreal, Ottawa, and Angus.

I never knew that I could live in a hotel for this long. We are in no way suffering but we definitely are not settled into our new life in Kingston.  As I snapped at the hotel staff when she informed me that the hotel is full this weekend (meaning we cannot extend our stay so we kinda are kicked out!), I need to be aware of these moving stresses.  Everyone has different things going on their life and being overly dramatic is not helpful.  So if you see me in the next few weeks, be kind.  I am taking time to stay active, remembering all of God's blessings, organizing G's birthday, and hopefully, move into our home.

Pictures Say a 1000 Words

Just photos for this post. Ok, and a few words (I couldn’t resist). Many pictures were taken during our walks in the neighbourhood.  There a...
